Super Bowl XXXIII - Sunday, November 6, 2005 Good Afternoon Ladies and Gentlemen and fellow football fanatics. On behalf of the Seven Sorrows football organization and the CFA Football League we welcome you to the 33rd annual CFA Football League Super Bowl Championships. Today’s games bring to the conclusion yet another great season of football here in the CFA. We the CFA board of commissioners would like to congratulate not only the players and coaches who will be participating in today’s contests, but each and every player, cheerleader, coach and volunteer who has helped in making this another great season of football. Each season we as a board work together to bring new ideas and changes that look to not only make the play of football both fun, challenging and rewarding to our organizations, but to also find new and exciting ways of rewarding and honoring our players and coaches as well as in "Giving Back" to our members and those in our communities. Several season’s ago we began to honor our Middle School age players for scholastic excellence by creating a CFA Football League All-American scholastic team and will continue that this year. Players who make their respective teams home school honor rolls are named to this honorable team. Please see your coach if you make your schools honor rolls to see if you are eligible for this years Scholastic All-Star Team. Also, this season we again continue to move forward and for the second time in the CFA History we are naming a balloted CFA Football League Midget Division All-Star team. Players from all 16 Midget division teams were nominated by their respective coaching staffs and voting was conducted by the head coaches of each team to select not only the best players in each position but to also select and honor each player that our coaches felt earned the special recognition that is deserving of being name a CFA Football League All-Star. Assembled to our left are the 96 players representing all our teams who have been selected by the CFA Football League coaching staffs to this year’s All-Star team. We ask you to please stand while these young men and the coaches of this years All-Star team enter the field along with the United States Marine Corps Color guard to honor the memory and bravery of the September 11th 2001 tragedies and all our fallen hero’s of past and present that have sacrificed their lives for our great country. (PLAY SONG NUMBER ___10__ OF FIRST CD: LEE GREENWOODS GOD BLESS THE USA AT THIS TIME). (Read the following at conclusion of song and after all players and coaches have formed circle and have all joined hands) Throughout the history of America, many brave men, women, friends, neighbors, brothers and sisters have stood side by side, arm in arm, and hand in hand to defend our beliefs and freedoms. The rights and privileges that we hold true today did not come without the sacrifice and courage of many brave Americans and fellow countrymen. Today’s generation of youth standing here today have been given this honor and chance because of the sacrifices made by their fellow young Americans who even today bravely face America’s enemies in war and conflict throughout the world. Please join in a moment of silence to remember those who have lost their lives during the tragic events of September 11th 2001 and to honor those who serve to defend their memories and our way of life. (MOMENT OF SILENCE) We ask you to please remain standing for the singing of our National Anthem. (SINGING OF THE NATIONAL ANTHEM) (After National Anthem the Marine Corps Color Guard will leave the circle and the players will open up to allow the Color Guard to pass. We will be naming (1) player for each award including "Offensive and Defensive Players of the Year and a League MVP. First representing the Defensive team. Nominated as defensive player of the year his coach said this kid is without a doubt the most ferocious defensive end in our programs history. The kid is a freak standing 5’9 and 1/2 and has a wing span that goes forever. He leads our team in tackles and sacks. He is a 2 yr starter on both sides of the ball and a 2 yr captain. Simply put, he is un-blockable. This player is a great example of what a Christian athlete is all about. He must lose 5 lbs every week but his dedication has allowed him to never miss a game. Please join me in congratulating as the "2005 CFA Football League Defensive Player of the Year", representing the Holy Name Jets and coached by Tony Buglio, #22 Fred Dietz. For "Offensive Players of the Year": This players coach says that as a two way starter at Tailback and Linebacker you will see him run the ball, catch the ball, and tackle the ball carrier. This player asked me to build the team around him so he could carry the load. He leads by example, works hard and doesn't miss practice. As an All-Star player last year at cornerback he wanted to switch positions to better help the team this year. He is a coach on the field always using positive criticism when addressing his teammates. Always stressing it takes everybody to get the job done, not just one player. He leads by not only words, but example and the team responds. Please join us in congratulating his selection as the 2005 CFA Football League Midget All-Star team "Offensive Player of the Year", Coached by Link Wilson, from the Seven Sorrows Eagles, # 24 Dontell Taylor. And now for our final All-Star award. The selection of League MVP is a great honor that goes to a player who this season has guided his team teams to this years 33rd CFA Football League Midget Division Super Bowl Championship game. Our MVP award recipient’s coach says this kid is our team leader. At 5’9 and 143 lbs he is a load to bring down. He is the leading scorer on our team. He is second on the team in tackles, and has scored 3 defensive touchdowns along with 2 punt returns for td,s. this combined with 14 td,s 9 running and 6 receiving displays the type of versatility he has. This kid is a coaches dream. He has never missed a practice in the two years he has played for me. He is a 2 yr starter on both sides of the ball. His energy and desire can be heard and seen whether he is in the game or cheering on the B-team. He shows leadership qualities beyond his years. The CFA would be proud to have this player serve as league MVP. Please join us in congratulating his selection as the CFA Football League "League MVP" for the 2005 football season, representing the Holy Name Jets, he will be wearing number 30 in this afternoons Midget Division Championship game.
