Sunday, November 5, 2006 Ladies and Gentlemen, it is with great pleasure that we the CFA Football League Board of Commissioners proudly announce the creation of one final award to be given out annually by our league. The CFA Board of Commissioners is proud to announce the creation of the "CFA Football League Hall of Fame". This award will be devoted to recognizing the special efforts of Coaches, League Reps, Commissioners, area Football Officials as well as others who have contributed extended years of "Giving Back" to the players and associations which make up our league. This award will be given to a very select few each year and the final criteria for possibly earning this award will be considered by the Board of Commissioners in the upcoming off-season. The CFA Football League "Hall of Fame" will this year however induct their first member as approved by the Board of Commissioners. Our first member to be inducted into the Hall of Fame has been involved with Youth Football since 1973 when he was first elected as Commissioner of the new Catholic Football Association following the former CYO Football League period that extended from 1946 to 1972. In 1972 this inductee also served as Head Coach of the St. Catherine Royals Midget team when he guided his team to a perfect 9-0 record and the first ever CFA Midget Division Super Bowl Championship. Our first inductee despite having no children involved in the league since early after the league incorporation in 1972, has continued to be the face of the CFA and a very active leader in giving back to the league that he has overseen for over 34 seasons. He has seen the league grow from 9 parishes in 1972 to a record 17 community and parish sponsored teams this year with the acceptance of the South Hanover Knights into the league. We asked his wife Shirley for any comments that she had about this person’s dedication to the youth of the Harrisburg region and she had this to say: "There was a lot of times when I thought this man was nuts to stay with the league so long, but when I look back over the years and realize how he has been so dedicated and has helped kids and families in trouble, I am really proud of him. The biggest thrill he gets is when one of the kids from the league moves on to High School and College and he says to me: "he was one of our kids". I know then it has been worth it. Ladies and Gentlemen, it is with great pleasure that we present to you the first ever CFA Football League "Hall of Fame" inductee, representing the Hall of Fame Class of 2006, please welcome Mr. A. Joseph Cribari, coach and CFA Football League Commissioner from 1972 to present.
