2005 CFA Midget All-Star Nomination Form You can nominate up to one player from your team to each position and award listed. You do not have to list a player however for every position. Basically, you should nominate your player for a position only it you and your coaching staff believe that this player is one of the top 5 or 6 players in the league for this past season. The CFA will be naming a 1st team Offensive and Defensive Team as well as a "Regular" All-Star team as we did last year. You must list your players full correctly spelled name, his jersey number and up to four lines of text telling the other coaches why you feel that this player is worth making the team as a selection. All 16 teams will be given a copy of this nomination form and will vote for players on all of these positions. You WILL be required to vote the correct amount of votes and turn in your ballot at the time stated or your team will not be eligible for any of the post-season All-Star awards. All nomination ballots are required to be emailed to the following email addresses: db@epix.net, AsstCFACommish@aol.com, and ajosephcribari@msn.com . The nomination forms for the regular offensive and defensive positions MUST be emailed no later than Saturday morning at 12:00 noon the 15th of October 2005, but can be emailed sooner when ever you are ready. All midget head coaches should attend the CFA football meeting on Monday, October 17th, 2005 to receive their ballots for the nominations and farther instructions. We will try to give each coach a printed copy of the nominations during the meeting depending on the total number of players that get nominated. All coaches will receive an official paper copy of the ballot at this meeting that will need to be returned the following meeting. Each coach will be instructed to remove the names of any player who was named to a League MVP honor during this meeting. ***NOTE*** EACH TEAMS MVP NOMINATIONS MUST BE EMAILED NO LATER THEN TUESDAY, OCTOBER 11TH!!!!!!! A MVP BALLOT WILL BE EMAILED OUT ON WEDNESDAY THE 12TH TO ALL THE HEAD COACHES FOR VOTING TO BE DONE FOR MVP AWARDS "PRIOR" TO THE REGULAR TEAM VOTINGS. Each coach then will turn in their MVP votes at the start of the October 17th meeting for validation and counting. You must email your MVP nominations on time so that all the coaches can receive the MVP ballots prior to the October 17th meeting. We will be announcing at the October 17th meeting the 3 players who have been selected as league MVP’s and players of the year so these players can be removed from the ballots for 1st team offense and defense. These 3 players will automatically be placed on the 1st teams, so they will not take away votes from the rest of the leagues players for specific positions. This will allow us to name 29 different players this year to the 1st teams. All ballots will be due to be returned to the CFA Football League commissioner the evening of October 24th, 2005 at the start of the 2nd round playoff meeting. Voting on the ballots will be looked at only by the CFA Football League commissioners that are NOT official coaches on any CFA Football League Team. This includes Smurf, Peewee, Pony and Midget level teams. During this meeting all 16 team ballots will be screened to ensure that the proper number of selections have been made by each team for each position to be honored. Any team that fails for vote for the correct number of players and for all positions will void their ballot and will also void all of their team’s nominations for the 2005 CFA Midget All-Star team. The team will have one chance to make the necessary changes to the ballot to validate it correctly prior to their teams’ disqualification. See the rules for voting for corrections that can be named to ballots. Per example, if the ballot states that you must select 3 players for a certain position or honor, you MUST vote for that amount and no more or less then the number stated. You can vote for your own player on the ballot, however, you will be required to vote for other players in the same position on your ballot or your ballot will be determined to be ineligible and all players from your team will be not allowed to be placed on the All-Star team. By the end of the ballot turn in meeting all ballots will be certified to be completed correctly and players eligible to be honored. If a player or team is determined to be ineligible for the 2005 CFA Midget All-Star team, all teams will be notified during this meeting. If a team is determined to be ineligible the league commissioners who will be verifying the ballots will ignore any votes given to a player from an ineligible team. If for any reason that a tie cannot be broken for any award or position based on the tiebreakers, then those players involved in the tie will be voted on during the following CFA Football League meeting to break the tie. Any official coach of any of the 16 midget teams can represent their team at the CFA meetings for the nomination and voting process; however, each head coach MUST sign the ballot for it to be eligible. If a tie breaker vote is needed for any reason during the last meeting before the 2005 Super Bowl, the head coach my appoint any coach on his staff to represent himself at the meeting and to vote for their team. Each coach voting for tiebreakers however must have a written letter from the head coach stating that this coach can vote on behalf of his team and be signed by the head coach. Players named to the CFA Midget 1st team All-Star team will receive a certificate, a medal, and a special Jersey during the 2005 CFA Super Bowl Games. Players that receive the required number of votes to be placed on the "Regular" All-Star team but didn’t make the 1st team honors, will each receive a Medal and Certificate at the Awards gathering during the 2005 Super Bowl Games. Players selected will be announced during the CFA Super Bowl games. The required number of votes to be placed on the "Regular" All-Star team will only be determined after the ballots have been turned in and counted. Last season the required number of votes was (3) for all positions, which is also the minimum number of votes that is required to be considered. The minimum number can be increased to (4) or more if it is determined that it is needed to break ties for certain positions, or if certain positions receive a low amount of nominations while other positions receive a greater number of nominations. Last season 80 different players from all 15 teams were named to the 2004 "Regular" All-Star team. This season the max amount of players has been limited to 100 with the addition of 1 additional team to the league and a better idea of how the process works for voting. No player will be named to the All-Star team that doesn’t meet the minimum number of (3) votes from coaches. Keeping in mind that the limit for this season has been set at 100, for the first draw, every player who receives (3) votes will be placed on the team. If the number of players with 3 votes total exceeds 100 players, then positions with larger numbers of candidates and un-even voting with be taken to a minimum of (4) votes to make it or will follow the tie-breaker rules as to which players get the selection. Keep in mind that this most likely should not happen if voting is done fairly as it was last season. But in order to keep the honor of making the "Regular" All-Star Team from being watered down, a limit must be placed. And ONLY "100" awards are being ordered. |
