Report on KMFC and CFA First Cross Over Football Games Plan Meeting Monday, August 30, 2010 The KMFC and CFA “Cross over Game Plan” Meeting was held at the Steelton Italian Club Monday, August 30, 2010. Following is a list of Attendees: For the CFA: Joe Cribari Jack Mitchell, Brian Knopp, Aaron Wright, Marv Gregg, Jim Durham, Rich Sadlock, Scott Riggs, John Rhoads, Bob Stone, Ted Dorn, Stacy Jordan, Bryan Rowe, Tim Cramer and Adam Lantz. For the KMFC: President Derek Lewis, Middletown Boys Club and Cumberland Valley. The purpose of the meeting was to discuss cross over football games between the KMFC and CFA Football Leagues and how to do it. Except for the Smurf Squad level of play, the age and weight requirements are the same for the Peewee, Pony and Midget Squads. CFA Commissioner opened the meeting by introducing KMFC President Derek Lewis and thanking him for attending this special meeting. He made it clear to the attendees that this meeting and plan was not a merger of both leagues. It was just to set up a way on how to play cross over games between the leagues. During the meeting the attendees were provided with the following handouts. A proposed CFA and KMFC Cross over Game Plan, a list of the 16 CFA teams and 12 KMFC teams sequence with the top 16 CFA Midget Teams and the top 12 KMFC Midget Teams. The CFA ranked list was developed using the current ranking order for 2010. The KMFC list was made by just plugging in names for review purposes only and would later have to be developed by the KMFC at the end of the 2010 season. Also provide was a conference and division structure based on the above mentioned list. The plans shown below were discussed in detail. Concept Plan A. Schedule a week prior to the regular season and/or during the regular 2011 football season to play cross over games between both leagues. The games would be considered exhibition games and not count in any league standings. Since the CFA has 16 teams and the KMFC 12, 4 teams in the CFA would not play. How do you select the 4 teams not being able to play and how do you schedule the 12 that could. Most teams did not like this plan. Concept Plan B. This play receives overall support from the CFA team reps, KMFC rep from Middletown Boys Club and Cumberland Valley Football Association. To play cross over games that count and against the most competitive teams, the following would have to be established. Set up a new league alignment in name only. The league would consist of 3 Conferences and 2 Divisions in each conference. The conference’s would be named the American, National and Federal Conferences. The American Conference would be considered the Strongest Midget Conference, Triple AAA, with the Divisions named the CFA Red Division and the KMFC Red Division. There would be 4 teams in each division. The National Conference would be considered the next tier Strongest Midget Conference, Double AA, with the Divisions named the CFA Blue Division and the KMFC Blue Division. There would be 4 teams in each division. The Federal Conference would be considered the Single A Conference with all of the remaining teams and the Divisions named the CFA Gold Division and the KMFC Gold Division. There would be 6 teams in each division. Teams assigned in the American, National and Federal conference would be based on the final team rankings for the CFA and KMFC after the 2010 season. The ranking would be for the Midget Level of Play only. The CFA would have their teams ranked 1 to 16 and the KMFC 1 to 12. These ranked teams would then be assigned to the divisions mentioned above (with emphasis on team player enrollment). Regular Season Games Schedule. Each team will play an 8 game, 8 week regular season game. This could be accomplished as follows: For the American and National Conferences (8 teams in each conference), they would play 7 games within each conference and a cross over game between each conference. For the Federal Conferences, 5 games within their own division and 3 cross over games with the other division. This conference will not play any teams in the American and National Conference making all the games for the lower tier teams more competitive. Win Point Awarded. You can award 4 win points all teams in the red conference that play each other and Award 3 win points to all teams in the blue conference that play each other. 2 win points will be awarded to all teams in the Gold conference that play each other. This will be developed after the conference alignment structure is approved by both leagues. Please note: If the cross over game schedule is done as mentioned above, all teams would receive only 2 points for a win and one point for a tie. Playoffs and Super Bowl. In Phase I, year 2011 and 2012, at the end of the regular season, the KMFC and CFA Football Leagues will schedule and play their own playoffs and super bowl games using the criteria that they currently use today. Governing Body. Both the KMFC and CFA Football Leagues will continue to operate as they do today with their current officers and team reps. The governing body for cross over games shall be vested in current President and Commissioner of both leagues. Joint Meetings. The KMFC and CFA Football Leagues will hold joint meetings on the cross over games plan. At least 2 during the off season, 2 and/or 1 during the regular season, and finally 1 for post season play, if required. This report will now be provide to the KMFC Football League by their President, Derek Lewis at their next scheduled regular meeting for their review and discussions. Their meeting report will be provided to the CFA. Joe Cribari, CFA Commissioner Dated: August 31, 2010 :
