(Note on Players of the year: A player can only receive 1 of these awards. The player selected, as MVP will be removed from the Offensive and Defensive Player of the year ballots. The 2 players who receive the MVP and Offensive player of the year awards are removed from the Defensive player of the year ballot). You may nominate the same player for League MVP and also either Offensive or Defensive Player of the Year, but not all 3 honors. You cannot nominate a player who is nominated for Offensive Player of the Year for Defensive Player of the Year also.

All players that receive at least 3 votes on the voting for Offensive and Defensive team honors will be considered to be named to the Honorable Mention list and receive a certificate from the league. This minimum number of votes can be increased to 4 or more if the total players that receive 3 votes exceeds 100 for this season. The increase to a minimum higher then 3 votes will be done only on positions that received high numbers of nominations and has low numbers of different players who received votes. The minimum number increase will start at offensive positions first and then go to defensive if needed.

An example of this is as follows:

There are 102 players that receive 3 votes. 2 players will need to be removed from the team. At offensive tackle there were 16 tackles nominated to the position, one from each team and three teams used their "OPEN" position to nominate 3 more players for tackle. During voting, all players each received 1 vote at least, 1 player received 14 votes and another player received 12 votes. The next highest player had 10 votes. The top two players are first team players. 7 players received at least 3 votes, however, two of these players received 3 votes while the other 5 players received 4 or more votes. The minimum vote count for offensive tackle is increased to (4) votes and the two players who received 3 votes are removed, and we now have named 7 players total including the 2 first team players to the "Regular" All-Star team. This process will start if needed at the positions that have the greatest numbers of nominations and greatest number of players who received the league minimum of 3 votes. Keep an open mind on this… This process will most likely never have to be used. But we will only have 100 awards to hand out and would not be able to get any additional ones in time for one or two additional players. A limit has to be set.

All players who are selected to the CFA Football League 1st team honors will receive an All-Star jersey, a medal, and a league certificate. NOTE: All-Star Jersey’s will only be presented if outside sponsorship is obtained for sponsorship and payment of the Jersey’s costs to be presented is made by an outside sponsorship. All players on 1st team selections must receive a jersey if any Jersey’s are awarded. Players selected as Offensive, Defensive and MVP players of the year will also receive a jersey automatically. The CFA Football League will pay all cost of additional awards including Certificates, Medals, and MVP awards.

All players who receive post-season honors will be recognized with their awards at the start of the Super Bowl games during the opening ceremonies at which time the first team members and Players of the year honors will be announced. The league commissioner will send out a list of all players who have earned a post-season award to all the teams’ prior the Super Bowl games and all players listed should try to be in attendance during this time to be recognized. 1st team members will be announced only at the game. The 3 players selected as MVP and Players of the Year will be announced during the first playoff meeting.

Tie-Breaker rules for Post-season honors

The following guidelines will be used to break any ties on voting following the end of the official voting period for all post-season honors. Any player who is a part of a tiebreaker is automatically placed on the honorable mention list regardless of the amount of votes that player receives if he looses the tiebreaker.

In the case of a tie between two or more players, a player who is in his last year of eligibility in age will be named the winner.

If both players are in their last year the total regular season points that each player’s team earned including ties will be added to each players vote total and a winner determined.

If a tie still exists, the players whose team won their respective Division title during the regular season will be named the winner. However, for this tiebreaker to be used, the player or players team or teams involved "MUST" have had a winning record of at least a 4-4 record not counting ties. If both players’ teams won their divisions then the player whose team had the highest win-loss record is the winner.

If a tie still exists, the player whose team was seeded highest for the post-season playoffs will be determined to be the winner.

In the awarding of the Offensive, Defensive, and MVP awards; if 2 or more players are tied during the final voting period the same tie breakers for the 1st teams honors will be used to determine the winner and the other players will be allowed to be considered and voted on for 1st team offensive and defensive honors. The winners of the MVP awards will be removed from the 1st team ballots for offense and defense.

In the case of naming 1st teams for offense and defense, any time there are 3 or more players tied, the tiebreakers will be used until one or more players are removed from the tie and the other two players will start the tiebreaker rules all over again.

Any player who is named to the offensive team will automatically be removed from the eligibility of being named to the defensive team.

Coaches voting guidelines:

For any teams members to receive any post-season honors the head coach of each team MUST follow the voting and nomination rules as stated or that coach’s team and players will be determined to be ineligible for the post-season honors.

All teams MUST turn in their respective nomination forms via email no later then the announced date or they will NOT be placed on the ballots.

Each head coach will receive the nomination form of the other 15 teams players and their own to reference while voting with the official voting ballot.

When voting, all coaches "MUST" vote for exactly (3) players for each position and award to be given. If a coach turns in a ballot that is determined to be incomplete then that coach’s entire team will be determined to be ineligible for all post-season honors. Any coach who does not vote for (3) candidates for every position or award will have one chance to correct their ballot, but only at the meeting that the official ballots are required to be turned in. If a head coach is not in attendance only the person who personally turns in that teams ballot to the CFA commissioner at the start of that meeting can make changes to that ballot.
