Kim Swartz

My name is Bob Becker and I am the president of the Juniata Little Indians. For the 2009 CFA Football League Volunteer of the Year Award, I would like to nominate Kim Swartz.

Kim is the secretary of our organization, but she is much more than that. Kim also runs the concession stand. She makes numerous trips to Harrisburg (a 45 minute trip) throughout the season to Sam’s Club and Costco in order to find good deals on food, drinks, and products for the concession stand to use and sell. She participates, and is involved in, every fundraiser our organization holds. Kim regularly sends mass emails to every member of the organization in order to update everyone on upcoming events, reminders, and thank you’s. She makes phone calls to vendors on her lunch breaks, sets up the physicals for the players, and opens her home for club meetings.

In addition to all of this, Kim uses her own equipment to take pictures of the players over the course of a game day. She then downloads them to a website which allows all the parents to view and print them. During her son’s game, she has a friend or relative take pictures with her camera, meanwhile, she videotapes that game. Afterward, she will burn copies of the game and hand them out, for free, to any parent who requests one.

Kim Swartz is an exceptional volunteer who donates her own gas, supplies, money, and time to the Juniata Little Indian organization. Please consider Kim for the 2009 CFA Football League Volunteer of the Year Award.

Sincerely,

Bob Becker

President

Jamal Pitts

The Harrisburg Broncos Midget Football Association would like to nominate Jamal Pitts as 2009 CFA Volunteer of the Year candidate.

Jamal Pitts has shown that there are plenty of good parents that want to help and make a difference in our organization. Without even asking Jahmal has stepped up and gone well above and beyond what we asked from our parents this year.

This year each for each home game we asked our parents from each level to help with their specific teams sponsored home game week. We were looking for support and help in anyway possible from helping with the concession stand or even cleaning up before and/or after the games. The first home game we had was "Smurf" week. Not only was Jahmal the first parent at our field for this game to assist with setting up the concession stand, picking up trash and helping with field set up for our home game he filled in as weigh master when we needed.

As we had more home games Jamal was consistently not only the first parent, but sometimes the first person at the field ready to help in anyway he could. Without even asking he told us "I know you guys need help and if there is anything I can do let me know.

Jamal has now taken over the responsibility of being our weigh master full time and still offers to do more. We are lucky to have such a good parent in our organization. We haven’t had too many parents offer and step up the way Jamal has, so it is with honor the Harrisburg Broncos nominate Jamal Pitts for 2009 CFA Volunteer of the Year.

Respectfully Submitted,

HBMFA Board of Directors and Harrisburg Bronco Parents

John Boring

Cedar Cliff Colts would like to nominate John Boring for Volunteer of the Year 2009. This year John worked countless hours on a territory/boundary issue with another CFA organization that had never been previously resolved.

He spend many hours researching, examining and verifying, all of which resulted in a favorable outcome. We feel his work has left the CFA with a "contract", per se, between these two teams, which is working well.

John also bridged our football and cheer programs significantly this year. Thanks to his hard work, our football and cheer programs are working well together, both on and off the field.

Sincerely written,

Cedar Cliff Colts Midget Football & Cheer 2009 Board

Michelle Forte

Please accept this letter as Good Shepherd’s Nomination for consideration for the 2009 CFA VOLUNTEER OF THE YEAR.

Good Shepherd would like to recognize a key volunteer who is critical to our program and its success. Without her, it would be chaos. Her efforts insure that Good Shepherd, from a CFA League standpoint, is well-organized and efficient.

Michelle "Shelly" Forte, for three years, has performed two critical roles. First, she handles all the paperwork for our organization, which all teams know, is a monumental task. She gathers all registration forms and money, creates a spreadsheet of all players, insures the money gets to our treasurer, enforces the collection of money for those who owe, and collects all outstanding fees, birth certificates and physicals. She distributes player lists and contact information to all coaches and the coordinator. Basically, she does all the "dirty work" needed to get the program’s books in order.

On CFA League Roster Night, Shelly presents our completed roster book to the CFA, and she reviews the roster of the first team we play. For three years, our roster book has been the cleanest we can remember.

Her second role is Fundraiser Coordinator. Two years in a row, Shelly has pulled together the fundraiser with little time. But somehow, she has pulled it together, and with great success. This includes distributing fundraiser materials, collection orders and money, insuring the money gets to our treasurer, and collection of "buy-out" money. She then coordinates with the fundraising company on delivery and distribution of items.

The Rams hold Shelly Forte in high regard. When she takes on a task, it runs smoothly. She’s a tireless volunteer, and dedicated Mom of two. That is why we are honored to nominate Michelle Forte for nomination as 2009 Volunteer of the Year!.

Sincerely,

The Good Shepherd RAMS Football Organization

Joe Dorman

The Greenwood Newport Midget Football Association would like to nominate Joe Dorman as volunteer of the year for 2009.

Joe is a "One Stop Volunteer" – meaning that whatever it takes – no matter what needs to be done, Joe is ready and willing to do the job. A few of the services Joe provides is maintaining our playing field, serves as weigh master, helps with registrations, uniform hand-out and hand-in, stocks concessions, grills the food, opens the concession stand, sets up for game day, repairs anything broken!

Joe has been actively involved in the organization for the past 4 years. He has 4 grandsons and 1 niece who participate in the organization. He is well known among our parents and board members. Joe puts in a lot of personal time and we all know that if Joe is doing it, we are getting a job well done.

Sincerely,

Aaron Wright

President /Founder of Greenwood Buffaloes

Jeff Enders

Please accept the nomination of Jeffery O Enders for Volunteer of the Year for the National Conference football teams. Jeff has served as President of the Halifax Midget Football Association for 8 years now and has been a board member and or coach since the formation of the Association in 1996. Jeff has worked harder then anyone else over the past years in ensuring that the children of our community have a safe and instructional environment to play and cheer the game of football.

Over the past years, Jeff has overseen the installation of a new scoreboard, goal posts, concession stand, underground sprinkler system, gates and fencing, and the establishment of a new and expanded parking area at the playing fields. In not only giving his time to this organization for many hours each and every year, Jeff also reaches into his own pockets to pay for anything that is needed to get the job done or to help a family or kid in need.

Each and every home game you will find Jeff up early in the morning the day before a game, mowing and lining the field for that weekend’s game. Rain or shine that job must be completed, and he always makes that sacrifice to ensure that it is done. Games days, he is the first person at the field and the last to go. During the games he will operate the grill, serve as weighmaster, run the scoreboard or announce the games if need be. At away games, Jeff is the first to volunteer on our sideline to help run the chain crew, serves as weighmaster, and assists each and every team that is in need.

The list of the things that Jeff has done over the years for the kids not only in our association, but the CFA as a whole, can run on and on. We give thanks for his continued efforts to better our program and community and hope you will consider his nomination for this years Volunteer of the Year Award.

Sincerely:

The Board of the Halifax Midget Football Association.
